Gingival Curettages

Surgical or simple gingival curettage is a procedure suited for people with periodontitis, who suffer from uncomfortable or severe gum problems. We advise patients and everyone who asks us about this procedure, to undergo curettage only at an adult age, preferably after 20 years old.

Curettage is a treatment that not only benefits oral health but health in general. It improves the aesthetics of the teeth and gums, acts specifically by eliminating bacterial plaque, reduces the risk of tooth loss, prevents bad breath, and reduces the danger of cardiovascular diseases.

Tools and Technology
Our periodontist, prosthetist, and dental surgeon are involved in carrying on the operation from beginning to end, including follow-ups. In our clinic, you will be given a long-term treatment plan consisting of pre-planned cleansing, curettage and restorative work at specific time intervals, all to maintain and curb the periodontitis process as the disease itself is not treated but can only be maintained.

Our team uses only dedicated periodontal surgical kits, maximum asepsis, and quality disinfection products for the best results. For enhanced end results, you can choose one of our packages offering curettages with plaque cleaning or dental splinting.

How much does it cost?

Price depends on the treatment plan chosen for your needs. Contact us for more.

How long will my procedure last?

The procedure will last 60-120 minutes per arcade. For this reason, we work on one arcade per session.

Do I have to repeat the procedure?

Every 1-2 years according to curettage protocols and the condition of the patient.

Is there a next prevention phase?

If the patient has not done this procedure on time, the process of periodontitis goes further to grade 3 mobility and the chance to lose your tooth/teeth. The next step is the immediate removal of the tooth/teeth, and the placement of implants.
